Been travelling frequently from the province of Bukidnon to Manila via Cagayan De Oro at least 7-12 times a year thru Lumbia Airport & its around 20-30 minutes ride via taxi and will cost you 150-200 pesos in a metered taxi fare from the city proper of Cagayan de Oro and that old haunt makes it easy.
It's my first time to visit the Laguindingan International Airport located at Barangay Moog, Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental since the Lumbia airport operation was transferred to its new location just last June this year. Its somewhat improved compared to its predecessor when talking about the infrastructure and amenities but its a hell talking about public transport in going there. Believe me! the trip will take you 2-3 hours by bus from the City of Cagayan de Oro considering the traffic congestion and the trip to Manila itself is much more shorter.
Simplest way to go there is via taxi that will cost you 600-1,000 pesos (whew! just ok if you have extra cash) and thats about an hour and a half travel, other way is to ride a bus from Bulua bus terminal bound to Iligan City, Dipolog, Zamboanga just ask the bus conductor to drop you in the crossing of Laguindingan Airpor and there are many single motorcycle to bring you the airport from the highway crossing, just be sure you are 5 hours ahead of your scheduled flight or else ;-).
Few facts about Laguindingan International Airport:
- it's 46 kilometers from the city proper
- it's a 4.7 square kilometers area
- cost 7.853 Billion pesos
-it was advocated by former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in 2006
